Meet the Specialist

Dr. Osei Prempeh, MD

I completed my medical training in Bulgaria at the Pleven Medical University, after earning a Ghana Government Scholarship. I returned to my home country Ghana, where I completed my housemanship at the leading tertiary teaching hospital Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. After completing my housemanship, I served as a medical officer in the department of pediatrics for several years before moving to the United States for Postgraduate Studies.

I completed my residency training at the LSU School of Medicine in the field of Family Medicine and also got my Masters Degree in the field of public health at Tulane University. I served as an attending physician with ochsner medical center for 4 years before going into private practice which I have maintained to date. During this time, i also served as the chief medical officer for Priority Health care, a federally qualified health center (FQHC) providing health care for an underserved population in the Jefferson parish of New Orleans.

As an HIV specialist credentialed with the American Academy of HIV medicine, the entire spectrum of HIV care has been a cornerstone of my practice, bringing cutting edge care to the patients I serve.
