You don't sound like you're from New Jersey
My accent is southern, but I did grow up here, too. My father was a third-generation thoroughbred horse trainer, and shortly before I was born, he started training and racing horses at Monmouth Park. To coincide with the racing season, we lived half of the year in New Jersey and half of the year in South Carolina, so I did all of elementary school and one year of middle school in two states, which was pretty crazy. I completed high school in South Carolina but then spent every summer in New Jersey until I graduated from high school. We lived in Sea Bright, Wanamassa and mostly Eatontown. Later, after I left for college, my parents lived in Long Branch and beautiful Monmouth Beach.
Where did you live down south?
I grew up in a small town in the Midlands of South Carolina.
I went college at Clemson University in upstate South Carolina (Go Tigers!) and lived in Columbia, SC after graduation. A few years later, I moved to Charleston, South Carolina and then spent eleven years in Asheville, NC.
You moved from Carolinas to New Jersey!? Why??
The Jersey shore had been calling to me, so I moved back. But I can help you with travel tips to all the top destinations in both states. If you are wanting to move to either state, I have fantastic realtor family and friends that would take great care of you.
What do you love about New Jersey?
- The Jersey Shore, of course. Each little town is unique!
- The food scene is amazing. Can't get enough of the diners, great pizza, bagels and bakeries
- Monmouth County is filled with history and has a lot to offer!
- How much "you guys" love my accent.
- New Jersey is extremely diverse and I love how much people celebrate their heritage here.
- I don’t like pumping gas, and I don’t have to here. By law.
- New Jersey isn’t boring! It’s beautiful!
- I’m close to the city and a plane ride away to anywhere!
